They offer custom cake options, perfect for any celebration or just because it’s Tuesday and you’re craving one. I tried their chocolate ganache cake, which was the highlight of my party. It even had fresh berries, which got everyone fighting for a slice!
You should also try their handcrafted chocolate, like their dark chocolate truffle. It’s like a velvety hug for my taste buds. I also get a pack of their raspberry macarons. They’re always so flavorful and chewy.

Try their Gourmet Popcorn! It’s a fun twist alongside their traditional dessert offerings like macarons or madeleines.

Trafiq Cafe & Bakery is like a little slice of France in Vancouver. Its cozy and inviting interior draws me in. I always find myself in one of its corners with large windows, enjoying a good book and a delicious slice of cake.
They have one of the most unique cake flavors in town. For instance, chocolate lovers would gush over their Brooklyn Blackout cake. They also have the Homage to Earl Grey and Matcha cakes. It’s like drinking tea in cake form!
If you’re on the go, they have individual boxes for cake slices, so you can take them home and eat them whenever you’re craving cake. I always make sure to take home their mini Salted Caramel Cake.

They offer various cake options, such as rich chocolate cake and caramel cheesecake. They also offer customization options for cakes; you can get full-sized cakes during your celebrations.
It’s also a great spot to take a break from your day. It has a laid-back vibe, and I usually order their coffee, pair it with a slice of cake, and enjoy it with a friend.
Pro tip:
Try pairing the croissant donut vanilla cream pastry and their specialty lattes, like the tiramisu latte.

When you say Cadeaux Bakery, locals automatically think of its famous Tropical Cloud Cakes and other artistic treats. However, it’s also a trendy cafe combining industrial chic and a bright and airy atmosphere.
They have made-to-order cakes and other unique flavors. But if I had to pick my favorite, it would be their London Fog Cake. It’s light and moist, like a little cloud of dessert that my friends and I always fight for a forkful!
I love getting coffee, curling up with a good book, or catching up with friends at this place. The minimal seating makes it feel intimate, making every visit a personal affair.

L’Atelier Patisserie is a charming French bakery that opened in 2015. A quaint patisserie inspires it in Provence, and it will welcome you to the smells of baked goodies in the air.
Their cakes are out of this world, starting with their Hazelnut Praline cake. They nailed the rich and indulgent hazelnut flavor but still feel light as a feather. They also have a Chocolate Raspberry cake if you want something refreshing yet sweet for your cake fix.
If you stop by during Christmas, you should order their Buche de Noel (Yule log). It’s the perfect cake to take home to your friends and family. In our place, it has become the official Christmas cake.
Pro tip:
Make sure to try their laminated brioche. It’s perfect for dipping into your latte while enjoying the cozy atmosphere of L’Atelier Patisserie!

Buttermere Patisserie is a hidden gem that blends Parisian pastry techniques with some Asian flair. They create desserts that part-Asians like me can’t get enough of.
I felt like I was in a Parisian cafe with a twist when I walked in. The cafe’s soft palette and Asian decor are sprinkled throughout. It’s the perfect place to enjoy sweets or treat myself after a long, hard week.
My favorite cake from here is the cherry cake with tonka beans. I never knew tonka beans could add depth to the fruity cherry flavor, and I’d love this taste in a cake! They also have cakes during the mooncake festival, which I lined up for!
Pro tip:
Explore other menu items combining French techniques with Asian flavors, such as Buttermere Patisserie’s pastries or seasonal desserts. These unexpected twists make Buttermere Patisserie stand out from other bakeries!
10. Broyé Cafe & Bakery

When you enter Broyé Cafe & Bakery, you’ll never think it’s a cafe or a bakery. It’s like a cozy forest with paper cranes hanging from the ceiling. But that’s not the only thing unique about them. They also put creative twists on traditional desserts and pastries.
Their standout menu item is the Japanese Matcha Souffle Cheesecake. It’s light and airy, with just the right amount of matcha. They also have mochi-inspired items like the Salted Cream Coffee Moissant and the Supreme Banh Mi Croissant.
If you want flavorful layers, try their Japanese Matcha Tiramisu. That’s delicious layers of cream, coffee, and matcha. And if you want something more unique here, try out their Purple Misu!
Pro tip:
Don’t miss out on their crispy banh mi sandwiches—especially the Best Mom’s Roasted Chicken Banh Mi—and pair them with one of their specialty drinks.
