I used to think a cocktail was just a cocktail—until I spent a night hopping around Gastown’s best bars.

One moment, I was sipping a smoky old fashioned in a dimly lit speakeasy, and the next, I was clinking glasses with strangers over a beautifully garnished gin concoction.

Let’s just say, I might’ve overdone it a little. But hey, when the cocktails are this good, who’s counting? Ready to find out where the magic happens? Keep reading—you won’t want to miss these hidden gems!

The interior design is equally captivating—every detail has been meticulously crafted, with the upper floor offering an extra dose of spooky vibes.

Some cocktails, like the Dead and Empress, come paired with a tarot card for an added mystical flair, and they’re as delicious as they are intriguing.

Fortune-telling is woven into the experience, with guests leaving with small souvenirs to remember their visit. Even the Zoltar fortune teller joins in, swapping a card for a fortune cookie with your bill.

Their cocktail menu changes with the seasons, but if you’re into fruity drinks with a touch of indulgence, the Magician is a must-try—it even comes topped with whipped cream!

Six Acres is a cozy, family-friendly spot nestled in the heart of Gastown—a true gem with a prime view of the neighborhood’s charm.

Six Acres offers a cool escape in the shade, which basks in full, direct sunlight. This is awesome as during the summer, it would be great to settle into the comfort of the shade.

Their weekend brunch, served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is a steal at $15.99. The menu may be small, but it’s thoughtfully curated, and each dish comes with coffee—a fantastic value!

We couldn’t get enough of the cocktails, especially the Mezcallita and a refreshing citrusy gin creation. As for the food, the fried chicken and house salad were both absolute winners.
