I’ve always been in charge of travel itineraries, and while I enjoy checking out all the activities in a new place, I would always end up with multiple tabs on my computer. Sometimes, I would even get lost comparing hotel prices from various sites.
That’s why when a friend recommended these best hotel booking sites, we took advantage of it while planning a mini staycation around Vancouver.
So if you’re also searching for sites where you can book hotels with ease (and with peace of mind), don’t forget to check these trusted ones on our list.
What is the average cost of a hotel room in Vancouver?
While it varies depending on the star rating, the average price of a standard hotel room in Vancouver starts at $247.63 per night. Meanwhile, upscale hotels may charge more.

What we like most about cozycozy.com is its wide range of rentals aside from hotels. Here, you can search for Airbnb rentals and even non-traditional vacation rentals such as cabins and cottages.
In fact, this site has several accommodations that you won’t be able to find elsewhere!
Other than that, this site is also a great source for last-minute bookings. Unlike most of the sites, cozycozy.com can still offer several options even if you’re booking for a hotel that you need in two days.
If you want a more handy navigation, you’ll love that you can download their mobile application on App Store or Google Play. Don’t worry, it’s user-friendly even for the less tech savvy users out there!
The mobile application also comes with functionalities that will help us narrow down our search. We personally love setting our budget first on the filter so we can check hotel rooms that will fit our requirements.
Cozycozy offers a dedicated filter for pet-friendly hotels and accommodations, along with customizable search options, multiple filters, and map-based results to help you find the perfect stay.
Great map function

If you’re travelling for work, one of the go-to sites for hotel accommodations is choicehotels.com. To get instant discounts, make sure to sign up as a member so you can take advantage of their special rates.
We’re just a bit disappointed to learn that this site offers limited options. We even tried searching for hotel accommodations a week before our trip, and we’re left with less than five.
Nonetheless, we still appreciate booking from this site as we always get upfront fees. That means, no hidden fees or extra charges once we get to the hotel.
You also earn rewards points just by booking your accommodations through this site. So if you want to be smart about your purchase, then this site could be the best one for you!
Just watch out for your existing points before it expires. When we lost half of our rewards points, we found it a bit hard to reach their client service representatives, so we ended up paying upfront.
And while refunds are possible with choicehotels.com, you should still expect your account to be credited after a few weeks—some even complained about getting theirs after a few months!
Budget-friendly options
“I stayed at a Sleep Inn & Suites near Westchase. For the price, it was fantastic. I noticed the booth couches in the lobby were worn, so at first I was concerned that things would be run down, but those seats were the last of the issues. The room was nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was appropriate for the price as well, and I was delighted by the Texas-shaped waffle maker.”

Connects you to hotels with very accommodating staff
“Excellent services by the hotel, especially Rina Devi who done fantastic room cleaning services on a daily basis and kept my room fresh and clean”

If you’re someone who just wants to compare prices and check out the best deals hotels can offer, then should head to trivago.ca. Yes, safe to say that this site is your middleman direct to the hotel sites and other third-party booking sites.
First thing that we noticed is that it’s easy to use whether you’re using their website or you just downloaded their mobile application through Google Play or App Store.
For us, this is one of the best sites to go to if you’re looking for one with a good filter function. All you need to do is key in your dates, pick an area in Vancouver, check off specific amenities that you need, and you’ll be directed to a lot of options.
However, choosing this site will definitely require you to make an extra effort as you would need to book elsewhere. But don’t worry, this site sends you directly to where you should settle payment—we’re just here to refine our searches!
And most of the time, it works as an advantage since we don’t need to deal with this site’s customer service, as we can connect straight to the property.
And here’s a little heads up for you: trivago.ca may connect you to a site or property that pays them to advertise more!
Secure booking
“I like the service a lot despite the fact that sometimes the prices in some bills are too expensive. I guess it’s all because of the situation with the economy.
All in all it’s my number one booking platform.”
Aslam Haleev, User Review
Updates information on a regular basis
“Great site filled with updated info.
I use this site often and they are really helpful with lots of useful trips info. Great resource.”

Aside from searching for hotels and other accommodations, trailfinders.com can also be used to look for flights and tours, making it a great one-stop shop for travelers. We think that this is a great option if you want to simplify all the planning, perfect for big groups!
You can even order a travel brochure on their site, giving you an idea of the places you would want to explore.
We also tried connecting with one of their virtual tour consultants, which we think is perfect if you want to do a DIY adventure with the help from a virtual tour guide.
While most hotels on this site have reasonable rates, we noticed that most of the properties are located a bit far from public transport stations and famous attractions, making it a little challenging if you’re not bringing a private car.
We just got lost for a bit when we were navigating their website. We think it’s a bit cluttered as we almost didn’t see the list of hotels that we could book until we scrolled down further.
Another thing that we liked about this site is that they have reliable customer service. When we had to cancel our trip, we just sent them an email, and they gladly processed our refund right away.
Reliable customer service
“Very responsive, professional, knowledgeable and helpful”
John Broughton, User Review
Efficient coordination
“I have used Trailfinders for several years now when I am embarking on a major holiday and I have never been disappointed with the service I receive in arranging the holiday. Today I had the pleasure of speaking to Anna. She arranged everything that I wanted with no problems and gave us some surprises to our needs as well. As usual great service from Trailfinders.”

What’s good about holidayhomes.com is that it’s an easy-to-navigate search engine not just for hotels, but also for vacation rentals and flights.
You can also use this site if you want to search for properties that offer short-term rentals. It’s a great site to check if you prefer staying in a place with hotel-like feels but with complete kitchen and laundry amenities.
We had a great time navigating their filters as they can really refine your searches. Some of the filters that you can find even include castles, farmhouses, houseboats, and pension places, which isn’t pretty common in most sites.
Pet lovers out there will surely love that there’s a pet-friendly filter. We loved that we didn’t have to connect to the property separately just to check.
It’s great that holidayhomes.com only recommends hotels and properties with great reviews. So there’s a higher chance for you to get a properly maintained hotel to stay at.
But here’s the catch when dealing with holidayhomes.com: you’ll be directed to another site to complete your booking. So just make sure to check the site for the final pricing and policies (don’t forget to check if it’s a legit site too!).
Quick revert
“I have been working with Jozef and his team now for almost a year and have an excellent service. Every little detail is taken care of and the communication is fantastic. Jozef goes above and beyond to make sure the property is performing and I look forward continuing our working relationship into the future.”
Michael Paton, User Review
Hassle-free coordination
“Such a nice team of professional and friendly people, performing completely relentlessly with a sense of urgency which has also helped. Jozef and Fanni do a really top job from start to finish, making managing SAs even more passive and less hassle than some of my BTL units. Communication is everything to me and these guys really have that down to perfection, from start to finish, from deep clean, furniture setup, maintenance and professional photography and extremely detailed record keeping of receipts, you will be in amazing hands with the team at Holiday Homes. So good that I am planning to switch a number of my BTL units to SA.
I lives miles away from the properties that the team manages for us and I have had total trust in them.”
