Estrella’s Montreal Deli & Cafe is my go-to lunch spot when I crave smoked meat and deli. It’s one of the restaurants with a no-frills vibe. The cozy kitchen is visible, and the walls are lined with chalkboard menus.

Every visit to Estrella’s isn’t complete without me getting their signature smoked meat sandwiches. These are classic, but they’ve perfected the meat seasoning to keep it tender and flavorful.

For my side, I cannot recommend enough that you try their poutine. I know it’s quite basic, but I cannot resist the local cheese curds they use, which melt beautifully over fries and gravy.

2. Tacoholic

Who says you can’t have Tacos during lunchtime or on a non-Tuesday? Tacoholic has you covered whenever those cravings hit. They have the best classic carne asada and refreshing grilled vegetables, which satisfy me for lunch.

I highly recommend their chicharrón and carnitas tacos. The cchicharrónadds crispiness and flavor to the taco, while the carnitas are tender and juicy every time

What’s great is that this eatery looks like a taco wonderland. It has bright colors, quirky decor, and big tables perfect for friends and family. Funky artwork hangs on the wall, giving a laid-back vibe.

3. Obanhmi

Obanhmi is for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese street food. The start of the show is, of course, their banh mi sandwiches. It’s the perfect blend of Asian and French flavors. You can’t go wrong with trying their classic pork bánh mì.

Obanhmi offers a menu that includes options for those who live a plant-based lifestyle. Although I’m not big on vegetables, when I tried their Vegetarian/Vegan Bánh Mì, I never thought I could finish it. It was so tasty and didn’t feel so healthy and green!

The place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Its simple yet bright walls and Vietnamese decor will allow you to immerse yourself in Vietnamese street food culture without leaving the city.

Haven Kitchen + Bar balances the trendy and relaxed vibe that Gen Z loves in a restaurant. It’s not too stuffy but stylish enough to make you want to take photos for your Instagram account.

They focus on Canadian cuisine with international twists. After trying their food, I now understand why they’ve been recognized as one of OpenTable’s top 100 restaurants in Canada.

Their food consists mostly of small plates and mains meant for sharing. I love this communal dining experience and usually bring my work friends here. Our go-to dishes are the Spicy Peanut Noodle Bowl and the Braised Pork Belly.

5. S+L Kitchen & Bar

S+L Kitchen & Bar nails the casual upscale vibe. This is a great place for a lunch meeting or to catch up with friends over good food and drinks. Their menu is packed with steak and seafood options.

My all-time favorite from here is the Wagyu Beef from Snake River Farms. This is my first restaurant that made me try meat that practically melted in my mouth! Then, there’s the Lobster Prawn Burger for my seafood cravings.

What I love about S+L is that they created the Knife Club for its loyal customers. When I joined, I even got a personalized steak knife!

6. The Keg Steakhouse + Bar

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar is another incredible lunch spot for steak and seafood lovers. When you enter the restaurant, it has dim lighting and wood accents. It’s perfect for lazy weekday lunches where you can just kick back and relax.

When I’m famished, I order their Prime Rib Sandwich. The flavorful beef is perfectly wrapped in that war and a perfect bun. On other days, I order their Vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie. It’s so delicious that it doesn’t make me feel like I eat that many greens.

This is also a great restaurant in terms of their waitstaff service. During one of my visits, the servers even took the time to share their favorite dishes, which helped me try something other than my usual.

7. An Indian Affair

An Indian Affair is a hidden gem I discovered in Langley. When I walked in, I was greeted by modern decor and traditional Indian artwork hanging on the walls. The place also has sleep lighting and comfortable seating that screams home.

They offer a modern Indian menu, the brainchild of Chef Gary Bakshi. With 30 years of culinary experience, he has worked in the best kitchens worldwide.

I love their lunch buffet because I can enjoy over 25 different dishes. But my absolute favorites are the Butter Chicken and Tandoori Chicken. These two have just the right amount of spice and tender chicken. I could eat them every day!

8. Ban Chok Dee Thai Cuisine

Ban Chok Dee Thai Cuisine is a Langley eatery that feels like it transports people to Thailand. It has the “Thai Select Premium” status, so you’re sure they serve quality and authentic Thai dishes.

I’ve had my fair share of curries, but this place has my favorite: green curry. I love the hint of lemongrass and the perfect balance of chilies. It hits that sweet and spicy spot without making me need to grab a lot of water afterward.

You can also bring along friends with dietary restrictions. They offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. It’s the perfect place for a laid-back lunch or romantic dinner. The colorful art on the walls sets the mood for an unforgettable meal.

9. Mai’s Vietnamese Restaurant

Loc Huynh created Mai’s Vietnamese Restaurant in 2009. Its modern, clean decor, with Vietnamese touches, sets the mood for a gastronomic experience.

Their menu is loaded with Vietnamese dishes like their famous Saigon Spring Rolls.

I always order the Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli, known locally as Bun Ga Nuong, for a hearty choice. It’s a delicious bowl of vermicelli noodles with grilled chicken. You can add extra vegetables like sprouts and herbs to add a hint of freshness.

Whenevtheir Rare Beef Slices or Pho Tai. Idoo whenever I’m in a hurry slurping their aromatic broth, especially during Langley’s chilly days

10. Montana’s BBQ & Bar

Montana’s BBQ & Bar is the perfect place to relax at lunchtime with coworkers. Its cozy vibe makes it easy to grab a seat, watch the TV, and enjoy delicious food in the middle of the day.

They have a lot of mouthwatering and hearty menu options. My personal favorite is the oven-baked antojitos. If you’re into something adventurous, then try their Kapow! Shrimp. A flavorful explosion in your mouth will leave you almost snacking on them.

The best part is that they have an ongoing special of $4.99 domestic beers daily. You can enjoy them with their Double Dusted Wings and toss them in their signature sauces.
