When I heard from a friend that there are good restaurants to try around Mount Pleasant, I immediately booked one weekend to explore the town.
In every restaurant I’ve tried, I found myself lingering over the menu, and making mental notes on what I need to try the next time I’ll be here.
Since then, I’ve been daydreaming about driving to Mount Pleasant just to try the other dishes I had to skip last time. Well, I have to admit, I even thought of relocating just to get closer to these amazing restaurants around town.

Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is a home decor, furniture shop, and restaurant rolled into one. Once you set your foot inside, you’ll be greeted by the cool retro interiors and murals.
You’ll encounter one problem though: you’ll get confused where you want to be seated as both their front and back patios offer great ambiance.
When you’re here, don’t miss out on their beef short ribs, broccolini, and beef tacos. They also support the local wine industry, so make sure to get a bottle or two during your stay.
Another thing that you’ll appreciate is that their servers are very accommodating. They are even organized enough when you need to separate your billing invoice, making it a lot easier for your group to split the cost.
Aside from their great menu selection, you can also buy vintage items such as clothing and accessories in the store. There’s also artisanal goods such as candles and soaps, making it a great stop if you need to buy unique gifts.

While the restaurant’s menu changes every season, their homemade pasta will always be a staple. So make sure that you order their ragu pappardelle and tagliatelle alla bolognese, which are both chef recommendations.
Aside from their pasta offerings, you can also order their MacLeod’s Leap dry-aged striploin, and other wood-fired meats such as the smoky grilled porkchops and roasted chicken.
The menu changes with the seasons, but their house-made pasta is always a highlight. Dishes like tajarin with butter and Parmigiano or pappardelle with rich ragu are crowd favorites.

You’ll love that they have daily happy hour offerings, making it easy for you to grab a decent selection of food and drinks without breaking the bank.
This restaurant is also known for their house-brewed beers, lagers, and seasonal brews, making them a great spot for craft beer lovers.
Their craft beers on tap are also on rotation, so you won’t always have to order the same thing if you’re a frequent customer.
Moreover, if you can’t decide which beer to get, you can opt for their tasting flights so you can sample a bit of everything.
When it comes to bar chows, you can order their well-battered and crispy deep fried pickles. You shouldn’t miss out on their cheeseburgers too!

Here, you can get your Italian favorites such as pastas, paninis, and pizzas. They also have generous servings, allowing you to try and share more flavors, especially if you’re coming with a big group.
Meanwhile, if you’ve got kids in tow, you’ll love that they also serve gelato. Some of the top favorites that you should try are the hazelnut, caramelized fig, and pistachio.
Aside from the seats inside, you’ll love that there’s an outdoor patio. This spot is also less busy, making it perfect for those who prefer a more quiet space.
